McCombs Business Foundations Program Offers Comprehensive Business Education and Online Self-Paced Course Flexibility to Non-Business Students
Did you know you can earn UT credits this summer while learning online and at your own pace? McCombs Business Foundations Program (BFP)—one of the largest and most widely recognized programs at The University of Texas—now offers self-paced online versions of essential business courses to all current undergraduate students.
“I come from the world of Fine Arts, and while I excel in my field, I found that by pursuing a rigorous Business Foundations Program, I’ve been given an attractive skill set that differentiates me from the next person in an interview,” McKenzie Cornish said, commenting on the merits of an interdisciplinary education.
Business Foundations courses provide a solid grounding in business concepts and cover the essentials of accounting, finance, information technology, marketing, business law, and management. Classes can be taken as part of a Business Minor, or taken as supplemental classes to any area of study.
BFP classes are also easy to fit into your schedule. Through University Extension (UEX), undergraduate students can now take classes online at their own self-directed pace. McCombs faculty members teach the courses, so you will learn from world-renowned professors at a pace that fits your schedule. It has never been easier to build your resume and gain valuable skills that will strengthen your job prospects.
"For over 20 years the McCombs Business Foundations program has helped undergraduate students round out their degree plans and become more attractive to employers. The online option presents the material in a fresher, more flexible format that fits the needs of today's students. It leverages McCombs’ award winning faculty to reach students in an innovative way," said Kevin Williams, a Senior Lecturer at McCombs School of Business.
In addition to being a great investment, the new BFP Online (BFPO) classes are also a very affordable one. You should check with your academic advisor when considering BFP options, but the new self-paced online BFP courses give UT undergrads a unique opportunity to take McCombs business courses that would otherwise be difficult to get.
"No matter what kind of organization you eventually work for or create, you will be better off if you have a solid understanding of how to reach customers, process information, manage workers, keep the books, avoid legal risks, and make informed decisions about your money,” said Dean Bredeson, the BFPO Faculty Director. “With the new self-paced online Foundations courses, students can sharpen these skills anytime, anywhere, on any schedule,” he added.
Part of what makes UT such a desirable university are the opportunities it affords students to customize their degrees and engage in interdisciplinary programs. No matter what career you choose to pursue, a solid foundation in the principles of business will help you succeed. BFP classes offer the perfect way to attain business acumen regardless of your area of study. You can design your curriculum in a way that works best for your schedule and your learning style.
